KKR acquires 37.5% stake in new venture by Telecom Italia broadband
KKR Infrastructure has bid €1.8bn to co-invest in a new venture called FiberCop. The new venture will roll out ultrahigh speed broadband (connection speed of 1 Gbps) across Italy.
ArchiMed invests in NAMSA
French healthcare investment firm ArchiMed has deployed $350m to own a stake of NAMSA, a medical device testing company. NAMSA’s suite of services are designed to lower development costs and accelerate regulatory approval and commercialization globally for medical device and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) technologies.
Blackstone bets on life sciences company Cryoport
Private equity giant Blackstone has invested $275m in Brentwood, Tennessee-based life science logistics company Cryoport. The company currently supports 491 active clinical trials across the globe.
Carlyle Group acquires eight solar projects in Maine
The Carlyle Group has acquired eight solar projects in Maine from Ireland-based BNRG Renewables. The projects will cost $130 million to complete and could deliver 100 megawatts when finished.
Berbix raises $9M in Series A
Identity verification platform Berbix has raised funds to help expand its platform. The 9 million round was led by Mayfield and included existing investors Initialized Capital, Y Combinator and Fika Ventures.
ACTO raises $11.5 million in Series A round
Life science education and engagement platform ACTO has raised funds to help healthcare firms reach and inform their audience. The company delivers brand strategy services to over 60 drug and medical device manufacturers, such as AstraZeneca, Teleflex and Philips Respironics.
Restream raises $50M in Series A
Live streaming tool Restream has raised $50 million in a new round of funding. The round was led by Sapphire Ventures and Insight Partners and included Silverton Partners, Anorak Ventures, Liquid 2, Colopl Next, Mana Ventures and Iskra Ventures.
Erasca Raises $36M In Series B
Erasca, an oncology startup focused on novel treatments for cancer, has raised a Series B round of funding. The round was led by ARCH Venture Partners and Cormorant Asset Management, and included Partner Fund Management, OrbiMed, EDBI, Terra Magnum Capital Partners and Invus.
Kinnate Biopharma raises $98 million Series C
San Diego-based Kinnate Biopharma has raised funds to help it develop small molecule kinase inhibitors for difficult-to-treat, genomically-defined cancers. The round was led by RA Capital Management and included Viking Global Investors, Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Foresite Capital, OrbiMed, Nextech Invest and Vida Ventures.
